 What are the natural resources?

Natural resources are naturally occurring substances that are considered valuable in their relatively unmodified from. We cannot make water, soil, air or minerals. Allah created them. Many natural resources are found beneath the surface of the earth. Minerals such as, salt, diamonds and gold are found underground. Fossil fuels like petroleum and coal are found underground, too.

Coal:

coal is a black or brown rock, it is formed from the remains of living things. These remains (fossils) lie underground for thousands of years before they become coal. Coal is very useful. It is used to produce heat to generate electricity in some power plants. It is also used to make steel in industries. We get coal through mining. Coal is usually found in mountain areas.

           Petroleum:

The main fossil fuel is petroleum which is often called oil. It is usually in the form of a liquid when it comes out from the earth. It is used to produce electricity. It is also used to run the cars, aeroplanes and other vehicles. Oil is found in different places. It has been found under deserts and even under the ocean. To get oil from underground we drill a well and then pump the oil upward the surface.

             Natural Gas:

Natural gas is also fossil fuel. It is very useful for us. We get it from beneath the surface of the earth. We use it in cylinders at home for cooking. This is known as L.P.G (Liquefied Petroleum Gas). We also use natural gas to run our vehicales. This gas is called CNG (Compressed Natural Gas). We use natural gas for cooking. It is also used in geysers and for many other purposes.

                      What are minerals

Minerals are found under the earth in rocks. When we bring out these minerals in their natural condition they are not pure or useful for us. They are covered with sand and other impura substances. We call them ores. They are processed in factories and industries by machines.?
